Period 3 HiPPHistorical Context- The colonies were trying to gain independence from Great Britain. The colonies felt like they no longer needed to be watched over by the King because they were part of their own land, their own country with the same views as them. The colonies were not given the same representation in the British parliament although they were being taxed. The colonies had a hard time paying their taxes because not only did they have to fight off the Natives with their own money they also had to farm on land that was constantly trespassed. All of this led to the conflicts between England and its colonies in America. The geographic border barrier gave the colonies an advantage when fighting for their independence. The English soldiers were not familiar with the land therefore the colonies settlers had the advantage and won the battle.
Intended Audience- This was to the Virginia Delegates and to First Continental Congress of Williamsburg. Anyone who was in power at the time. Point of View- This was in the point of view a person in power against the independence of the thirteen colonies. Purpose- This was to bring awareness of what was happening in the thirteen colonies. |
